Hi Not much time for full response but Yes I believe slow seroconversion ( i.e. months not days to develop antibodies) following evidence of a definitive HIV infection still occurs although rare . The 4th gen test looks separately for looks for antigen + antibody and flags positive if either one or both are positive and should detect infection within 45 in almost everyone including the man above (as he still had antigen but no antibody ). My interest in him and similar cases is: why was he unable to generate antibodies in response to the infection ?? Hope this helps . Jg
