Canada hiv dernegi
Hello, and thank you for choosing AIDS Vancouver as your source for HIV/AIDS related information. I will try to answer your questions in the order that you sent them. 1) All HIV tests are considered conclusive at three months. Technicalities such as a five day difference between three months and 12 weeks do not make a difference, as it is generally accepted that 12 weeks and three months are the same. To be as accurate as possible, the test results are considered conclusive at 84 days. Your test at 87 days is conclusive: you are HIV negative. 2) Basing one's HIV status off of symptoms is not recommended, as HIV tends to mirror the symptoms of other viral infections. Furthermore, some people never experience any symptoms at all. Others experience strong flu-like symptoms two weeks after exposure when seroconversion starts and generally only last for a few days. Since you were tested at 87 days with a negative test result, you can rest assured that these symptoms you're experiencing are not related to HIV. I suggest getting in touch with your family doctor to get to the bottom of what may be causing them. 3) No, you do not need to get tested again for reasons listed above. I hope I've addressed your concerns. Feel free to send us another e-mail or give us a call if you have further questions.
